We are looking for skilled and talented front end engineers who are eager to create beautiful and sophisticated web projects with modern tools and techniques. Front end developers at First Foundry collaborate closely with server engineers and visual designers to blend form and function together into world class mobile and web applications. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Develop high quality web apps and elegant interfaces using scalable modern technologies and methods.
Work closely with visual designers, product stakeholders, and server engineers to solve complex UI/UX challenges.
Collaborate with other engineers to agree on and uphold best practices and standards for code quality across the team and the organization, including architecture discussions and code reviews.
Learn from industry trends and stay competitive with emerging frameworks, technologies, and design patterns.

Experience launching a professional project plus 2+ years of live support.
Demonstrated competence working with at least 2 of the following frameworks/technologies: Angular, React, React Native, Redux, Apollo, Vue, Elm, Ember, or other client-side framework.
Experience on industry standard version control tools (git, svn, etc) and workflows (Scrum, Agile, Kanban, etc).
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills, and the ability to communicate complex ideas and solutions to other engineers as well as non-technical project stakeholders.
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience communicating with remote teams a plus.
Competence constructing and styling web pages with modern HTML and CSS.
Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of human interface best practices for desktop, web, and mobile apps.

Proficiency in visual design, usability, accessibility, and UI/UX.
Competence with graphics and layout software, such as Sketch, Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, Omnigraffle, etc.
Familiarity with component library architecture and designOps workflows.
Experience creating animation with digital, procedural, or traditional methods.
Familiarity with emerging technologies, including blockchain and distributed ledger applications (dApps).
Experience collaborating with distributed or remote teams.
Professional game development background.
This is an on-site position as either a part-time or full-time contractor or employee in our Eugene, Oregon office.
